Williams, Edith Roosevelt Edith Roosevelt Derby Derby WILLIAMS age 90, died June 8 at his home on Vashon Island after a long life of the policy of conservation, education and community leadership. Edith Roosevelt Derby was born June 17, 1917 in Oyster Bay, New York, the first three daughters of Dr. Richard and Ethel Roosevelt Derby. He was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, and their first son, Andrew, Jr., Alaska. He is survived by his son, Richard D. Williams, Napa, CA (wife, Mary, and children of Helen and Richard), his daughter Sarah G. Chapman, Seattle (husband, Bruce, and son of Adam and Andreas) and daughter-in-law of April Moore of Wimberly, Texas (widow of Andrew, Jr. and his son Christopher Webb). A funeral service was place on Saturday, June 14, 2:30 pm, Church of the Holy Spirit (Episcopal), 15420 Vashon Highway SW, Vashon Island. Published in print on 6/12/2008.
