Is Llama/Alpaca fur valuable?

I live on a farm and we recently purchased two of these creatures, over the three years we’ve had them they have had two babies and the mother is pregnant now. They have lots of fur and heard somewhere that it is valuable if shaved, in upwards of $100/pound? Is this true? [...]
