In "The Shining" was the person in the bear costume?
The scene "bear" is supposed to be that of a dog, not a bear. The scene is drawn directly from the novel by Stephen King. In a scene from the novel (set in the 1920 festival) Jack is dancing with a beautiful woman on the dance floor. He realizes that at a table, a young man behaving like a pet dog for the amusement of others, including a large bald. The white head is Horace Derwent, a guy who has paid millions of dollars into restoring the Overlook Hotel in the 1920s. (Jack has learned by reading a book of memories previously mysterious in the novel.) Younger man (who claims to be a dog) is a romance in the Derwent Derwent bisexual and stated that "this time" whether the man dresses like a cute puppy, and acts like a cute puppy that 'May' be willing to sleep with him. Later in the novel, as Wendy cautiously navigates the corridors of the Overlook, she also begins to see the vision of the party for years 1920. And in a moment, looking at a corner, saw the two men in one bed, one in a dog costume. The two men are Derwent and his extremely dependent lover. It is difficult to say why this scene in the film, which is a little confusing, but all the parameters that the King gives in his book. Perhaps because of its incongruity Jarring is enough for inclusion, illustrating as it does Wendy's extreme disorientation at that point in the film. Another explanation is that the background on Derwent may have been a script and filmed, but eliminated from the final cut.
